Charlotte and I had just finished our assessed DofE walk (after breaking the record for being lost for the longest amount of time and consequently being the latest group EVER to the campsite) and Lesley had kindly agreed to give me a lift home. I obviously thought that it was just going to be another one of those awkward car journeys with a friend's mum but then again I had never met Lesley Morton. We all clambered into the car and drove out of the car park. Lesley then turned her Stevie Wonder CD all the way up, rolled down her window, stuck her free hand outside and shouted over the combined music and wind "Sing it with me girls!". And boy did we sing. The three of us went from Isn't She Lovely to I Just Called to Say I Love You and when we reached my stop I knew that I would never forget that car journey. I never did. Thank you for letting me be your Stevie Wonder Buddy, Lesley. You will forever be mine.
